Description
WW2 German Army 3rd pattern Panzer wrap
Reproduction of the German army 3rd pattern Panzer wrap
The 3rd pattern is usually recognisable due to the lack of waffenfarbe piping around the collar, which was discontinued in 1942, though this is not always the case as some 2nd pattern wraps also had piping omitted also. The main feature of the third pattern jackets was the quality of the material used, as by 1942 less and less quality material was available and as a result the appearance of the German soldier suffered. However, in the modern age we suffer no such shortages and the 3rd pattern wrap is made from the same high quality wool as the 2nd and indeed the 1st.
The wrap consists of a short, snug fitting double breasted jacket with hook and eye collar fastenings (a feature missing from the 1st pattern).
material – fine grade wool
One internal pocket
Black collar and large lapels with hook and eye fastenings
